Caverns: Within a Thirty-minute drive of Frederick House, are some of the most magnificent underground caverns in the United States. The Shenandoah Valley is famous for it's geography, including numerous public caverns. See the splendor created over thousands of years and enjoy a year-round temperature of 54 degrees!
Horseback riding: Choose from one hour guided trail rides for two or overnight mountain trips.
Golf: There are three golf courses within 5 miles of Frederick House. The closest is one mile from Frederick House. We can reserve a tee time for you. To have a complete golf vacation, ask us about our Virginia golf packages.
Swimming: During the summer swimming is available in Staunton at one of two park pools and at Sherando Lake where you can spend the day swimming, fishing, and picnicking.
Fishing: We can advise about fishing in nearby streams and lakes. Guide services available.
Visiting Wineries & Breweries: Frederick House is centrally located for driving trips to wineries, breweries and cideries. We can help you select a route that will include an exploration of back roads in the Shenandoah Valley. Take a drive along the Brew Ridge trail.
Farm Adventures: The Shenandoah Valley is home to the Fields of Gold Farm Trail, a large selection of farming experiences from pick-your-own to educational tours and more, all within minutes of the Frederick House.
